Quality time

My family went to London and I am all alone for 5 days. Will it get lonely, or will it be a pleasure? So far I can say neither, but we will see if that changes when I get into day four or five. Spent yesterday working, both at my job and at home. Then got a couple of hours to relax in front of the computer :-). Today has unfortunately been dedicated to work as well. Built some shelves, cleaned all windows, fixed some cordesĀ and is now doing laundry.

Sounds a bit boring right! But not necessarily because it had to be done, and I finally found time to do it. And to finally get it done is a relief. A huge burden has lifted from my shoulders and it feels great.

Now I have almost all evening to do things that I want to do, and that is rare. My quality time. And I can enjoy it even more now when my conciense is clean.

It is important to find quality time, so that you can really focus on things that you need to do. And you have time to take action, to do something new that your have never done before.

Normally when you have a family with kids and a fultime job you don’t get any quality time on your own. And I have actually missed it. Earlier I used to sit up late in the evenings and play games, which actually passed good for quality time. Only problem there was that both family relations and job got affected. Not ok.

My dream is to have quality time every day. My 5-year plan is all about it. To be able to work from home as much as I like, and to be able to take vacations when I like.

Take care, and go find some quality time of your ownQuality time

  2. Hi peter, sure do. I am from malaysia. I do not think it is the nature of my country, but I do believe it is the nature of the industry I am in, unfortunately. :-(

  3. i love this entry too. But it is very different in my country, especially in the industry i am working for – logistics and supply chain. the employer tends to stretch you 360 degrees, almost everyday work begins at 8am but i could hardly clock out by 5pm, we have to overtime till12/ 1am- that is dreadful and i couldn’t find quality time for myself, friends and family, unless weekend sets in. My went used to travel to NZ and Italy and related to me the locals there have so much of their carefree time. i really hope i could find something to sustain my living & at least some quality time for myself . :-)

    • Hi Johan,
I am sorry to hear that, because you need quality time. I am blessed for being born in Sweden and having a great job not requiring so much overtime. For you I recommend to start reading a book called “the slight edge”. Might change your life, and give you purpose again. Hmm, maybe I should write a post about it?
      Where do you come from?
      Cheers,
      /Peter
