New Year

New year and 365 new pages to fill in your life. You have a choice, a choice what to make out of every day this year. Make it a good one.

No matter what you promised that night not long ago, it all comes down to the small choices we do. Every little choice we do determines the future. Many choices are made without you even knowing it. Things we do every day become habits, and habits are hard to change. Especially the bad.

Owes, promises and goals are great. And they become even greater if you write them down and see them every day. But to keep yourself on track you need discipline and hard work. Nothing in life comes easy.

So, what are you going to do with the new year and all the possibilities it brings?

For me it is easy. I will just continue on my path and try to do it better every day. I have my passive income streams that slowly but surely builds my future wealth. I am always looking for new ones, but are much more restrictive than before, lessons learned :-)

I know my weaknesses and strive to improve. Most important for me is sleep, health and relations that still needs to get better. But now I am a much stronger and happier person than I used to be, which helps a lot.

Remember that knowledge is not power. Execution is.

The keys as I see them is still diversification and balance. You need to diversify your investments so that you still stand tall even if one or two fails. This is important in your personal life as well. If I focus on the above three areas and one fails, perhaps because I get sick, the other two will still make me feel proud and make me strong enough to continue.

Balance is equally good to keep in mind since everything always goes either backwards or forward. What you eat you must consume, what you spend you must earn etc.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year I wish to you all. Take the time to enjoy life and spend time together.

Christmas in Sweden is a christian tradition that is commonly celebrated even though most here are not religious. Normally Christmas is related to a lot of snow, building snowmen and throwing snowballs. But this year Christmas was green as if it was still autumn.

But then finally yesterday snow finally started to fall down as it should :-)

When I start to think about what has happened in 2015 it is like a roller coaster. Many bad and frightening things has happened in the world with tyrannies, terrorism, crisis, fugitives etc. But we are still here and time passes on. We can only try to help as much as we can.

Personally it has not been a great year. Too little exercise, sleep and good reading. Too much unhealthy eating, gaming and time wasting unfortunately. But physiologically I feel a lot stronger, and relations have been improved. Economically I have improved my incomes and assets greatly.

Plan for next year is to keep up the good work and improve health.

Do what you love, love what you do

Do what you love, love what you do. These words can be powerful if used in the right way. But it can also be used against you.

What I mean is that you need to be aware of where you put your effort. Do you put all your effort into a company like Apple, where you are supposed to be dedicated to life. Where you work because you love the ideals. Easy to get used, overrun and overworked. Or is it something you do for free since it fulfills you. That even might make you a fortunate future?
Love what you do

If you do what you love, it is likely that it will make you happy and with a feeling of fulfillment. You cannot go around all your life just working for or pleasing someone else, making them rich and happy. You need to do something for yourself.

But what do you love to do then? Well for me it was a hard question, since I had forgotten all about myself while my kids were growing up. Spent evening after evening playing games as an escape from reality. Short term satisfaction, but fatal for relations and work in the long term.

Long story short, but it all changed when I turned 40. Started to realize that it was time to make a change. I was actually playing the same games as my son, who was 11 years old at the time. Instead of gaming I started to trade online instead. Boy, was that a wake-up call or what. Totally impossible if you could not keep your feelings at bay. The message was clear, I had to work a lot on myself first before doing anything serious online.
Love what you do

Then when I finally started my online career I discovered my true passions. The first discovery was the communities, where you suddenly was apart of something greater than yourself. You were not alone. Then it was all the connections, and all the new “online friends” that I got. Then it was the insights and self understandings I got from all the inspirational books and presentations i plowed through. Then it was the paychecks! Oh, god how I love when paychecks come in. It was a sensation the first time, but it still excites me.

Today is the day

Today is the day to take action. Today is the day that shapes your destiny. Today is the day that counts, because you newer know what happens tomorrow.

My deepest condolences and sympathies to foremost the French people, the Turkish people and the families and loved ones of the victims. But we can not dwell on the past and circumstances that is out of our control. Bad things will always happen to us and others, but we can only learn from them and go by. All your prevous mistakes and all the misfortunes that happens must become lessons and memories to learn and grow from. The same goes for worries of what could happen in the future. Make plans to deminish the risks you see but do not dwell on them.

We can only fokus on what is here and now. Make dreams and plans for the future but take action to reach them today. It can be small things, it can be ridicoulus things. The only thing that matters is that you do it. Today is the day to take action, not tomorrow…

If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got. Do something different!

Take me for example:

My site, this site, My dreamtutorial will become the portal and home for anyone and everyone having an online adventure. To accomplish this I make small improvements every day. It can be a post, a link to something inspirational, a new page, a change in the header, a new welcome mail to my subscribers. As long as I do something every day it grows, and I grow with it.

My businesses: By reaching out to new people, by doing the tasks I am supposed to, by repurchasing and by implementing new ideas it grows little by little. As of now my passive income grows by aproximately one dollar every day. May not be much, but a dollars growth increasing every day will make next summer extremely pleasant. And my investments grows even more :-)

Start by putting your energy on areas that works, preferably where your passion lies. On things where results are easy to see. Then by celebrating and feeling good about your small successes you get power to take on more things. Before you realize it you are starting to see improvements in all areas of life. Just make sure you take action on stuff thats needs to be taken care of, not only the easy ones. For me working online has been a rollercoaster with many ups and downs. If something does not work for me today, I just shift to whatever works for me better instead. Everything goes in cycles and every bussiness encounter problems from time to time. By sleeping on it, the problem often get solved by itself.

Charity makes you happy

Charity makes you happy. Or as Aristoteles called it: doing good deeds make you feel “eudaemonia”. You get what you give.

I believe that there is a balance between sharing and receiving. You are only worth what you can provide as I stated before. All this is about the value you provide and the value you are worth to get in return. Providing value can be sharing and teaching others, it can be to inspire and to make people happy. But the most concrete way to share is charity.

A ton of research shows that giving and charity makes you happy. A report from Harvard I read the other day, “Feeling good about giving (and the costs)” clearly shows that all research points to the fact that happy people give, and gets even happier from giving. It relates to both donations, deeds and charity work. But beware that the effect will be reduced if the reason for giving is selfish and to make yourself happy.

My charity contribution goes through “Better Globe”. I donate water and funds to support schools (through Child Africa) and microloans in Africa. In order to compensate for my climate footprint and to support the war against the spreading desert in Africa I also donate trees. Furthermore I also invest in trees. Better Globe is doing a fantastic work in Afrika, and both children and adults now have a much better life in the areas affected.

This makes me proud. And that is what charity is all about for me, to make me feel proud. Why do you think that all the celebrities are engaged in charity? Because they have to? No, because it makes them proud and happy. Charity makes you happy. The have the funds to make a difference and take the opportunity to make something good that benefits themselves just as much.

My long term plan is to be able to go down to Africa and help them for a month every winter.

A blog is the best way to start

A blog is the best way to start working online, and it doesn’t matter if your purpose it to make money, or if it is something completely different. Everything should start with a blog. And the reason for this is:

  • A blog is the best way to start learning, period
  • A blog is the best way to start and the easiest way to take action, baby steps towards your freedom
  • A blog is the best way to start because you are not depending on anyone else but yourself
  • A blog is the best way to start because it is forever growing and will get better and better with time. Both in search engines and in quality since you get better with practice.
  • A blog is the best way to start because it is rewarding. You feel noticed and important when you see that someone sees your blog and comment on your posts.

The best way to learn? Yes, because you have to write and work on your communication skills. You have to start thinking and researching, in order to find subjects to write about. This process makes you curious and eager to learn new things. You learn the best by trying to teach others what you already know.

Easiest way to take action? Yes, because you can start now without a penny and without any knowledge. Just start a free WordPress blog and you are up in no time. Not depending on anyone else? Yes, extremely important when you start without any experience. It is so easy to fall for any marketing tricks before you know the ropes. As an inexperienced online seeker you are the main target for most marketers who wants to grab your money promising fortunes and a glorious lifestyles. You are then better off on your own trying to develop your own skills and starting your journey to personal development.

Forever growing? Yes, a blog is growing all the time you add something and all the time someone sees it or comment on it. And you will get amazed how easy it becomes to write after a while. Furthermore, you will start to love It as it almost feels like a need to express yourself and get your thoughts out there into the online world. The search engines will love it more when it gets regularly updated and as with women and wine, it only gets better as the years pass by.

Last but not least, it is rewarding. The feeling of your first visitors actually finding the things you write. And when the comments and questions start pouring in. You immediately start to feel important and part of something greater. The successes are easy to celebrate and gives you energy to continue. Most things online requires a lot of work before you see any results at all, and it is so easy to give up. But a blog keeps getting you the feedback and inspiration you need.

The best ways to make money online is to focus on your goals and diversify your work and investments in five different areas, guided by an experienced mentor. Earlier this week I wrote a post about “diversify focus to ensure results“. Then it was all about your personal development. Today I will talk about your work online, and more specifically how to make money online. Whatever your purpose and goals are, making money is always the key to it all.

The first thing you really need to focus on when figuring out the best ways to make money online are your goals. You will need both long and short-term goals:

  • What is the true purpose of my work online?
  • Where will I be in five years?
  • What baby steps do I take today to get there?

In your personal development you need to diversify by working on different aspects of your life. When it comes down to working online, you need to diversify sources of income as well as work.

You will need longterm investments and you will need short-term investments. You will need some investment only to be able to acquire passive income. You will also need to invest time and effort into something that requires you to stretch, grow and learn. And you will need something that brings you true happiness, regardless of income.  Most importantly, all of these must be wide-spread not to depend on one “golden egg”. The same principle as in personal development. You can’t lay all of your focus in one area. What if it goes wrong?

It must be stated here that many income opportunities online are very risky and might be closed down for any number of reasons. By experience and many disappointments you eventually learn what works and what doesn’t. It is a learning experience as everything else. And this is another reason to why diversification is even more important when choosing the best ways to make money online. Following are my experienced recommendations to diversify your online activities:

  1. Blog: An absolute must to start with. Great way to start taking action and learning the skills you need. A long-term never-ending business opportunity. Example: WordPress.com or WordPress.org
  2. Charity investment: Even if you invest in your happiness and other people’s quality of life. There is a way to combine it with long-term investments that will give you nice pension bonuses. Example: Better Globe
  3. Net revenue sharing. The easiest, safest and most lucrative way to build a steady constantly growing passive income. Example: Traffic Monsoon and MyPayingAds
  4. MLM, multi level marketing. Not a success for everyone, and hard to find sustainable companies. But a must to learn more about yourself and how people really function. Has to be combined with a product that increases in value to ensure income even without successful recruiting. Example: OneCoin
  5. Financial Investments. Investments with structured leverage products. Uniquely enables the possibility to earn high returns with a relatively small investment. Example: Icon Sachs

There are many other areas online where you can learn and earn a good income. But only the above has worked for me, and I have tried everything that came in my way. I started out with trading, but learned the hard way that feelings and emotions work against you. What business can work without feelings and emotions? I then tried systems and signals to trade binary options and to bet on sports and horseracing. Impossible to find a steady program where you can rely on the system, or without working day and night.

Next up was pure MLM, multi level marketing, where most programs were to depending on a steady growing base of new members investing. Eventually growing to big to handle even with sufficient new members. Or to big for not being stopped by some external hand like governments, banks, financial police, suing members etc. Also extremely dependent on your capacity to make your recruited members succeed in recruiting new members. For me impossible to cope with the bad conscience of my members loosing their investments.

I also tried network marketing to sell affiliate products. Both in communities like Empower Network and MLSP and through specialized companies like Clickbank and Amazon. A great way to earn a living for many skilled marketers with years of experience, but way to hard for a beginner.

As you can see, the best ways to make money online can be a tough and expensive road to find out yourself. Better to get yourself a mentor that already did the lessons and finally came out on the other side. Happy, experienced and finally making money :-)

Diversify focus to ensure results

Diversify focus to ensure results. What if you only focus on one thing, and that doesn’t work? Would that not feel discouraging, and even be a reason to quit?

In my last post (make yourself useful) I wrote about developing your skills.  When you do, you need to focus. It is impossible to quit smoking, go on a diet and start exercising at the same time. But if you can choose different areas in your life and focus on one thing in each area, then it becomes much easier and your chance of success increases.

As an example:

  • Health: To improve your health you choose to focus on getting adequate sleep, or to eat less sugar.
  • Relations: You focus on being happy and loving every time you come home, and surprise with a gift sometimes. Or you could decide to be totally present, without your phone, whenever your family is around you.
  • Work: Here is your focus on being “prompt” and prepared all the time.
  • Personal development: You read from a “good book” and write your plans and checklists every day. Alternatively you work on your skills to set up a blog, write a post or learn to understand SEO etc.

By doing all this but only focus on one single thing for each area of your life, you diversify focus. And the best thing about it is that you will always have something to celebrate and feel good about. Success feeds success. If it is habits that we are working on you must remember that it takes 14 days straight to learn them. After that and not before, you can choose to work on a new habit. If it is a hard habit to break or implement, try a 30-day challenge :-)

It is all about growing and replacing bad habits with good ones. If you don’t grow you shrink. If you constantly work on your habits you will slowly but surely change your life completely. Make yourself useful and increase your value. In my last post (Thank you for subscribing to my blog!) I talked about the purpose of my blog and my plan to make it useful for you. But this concept is not unique. Everything today is about providing value. Especially when it comes to the size of your paycheck.

Are you being paid sufficiently? Your salary is only a measurement of the price you can be replaced for. If you only know what most people on the street know your “price tag” is cheap. But if you have special skills or knowledge it will get expensive to replace you.

What I recommend you to do is to develop your skills. And in particular, dwell on your passions. What you love to do is easy to learn. Especially since all skills needs learning by doing and repetition to master. But, the most efficient way to learn is by teaching…

And here the blog comes in again. By teaching others what you know you learn. And by teaching others you also provide value. Providing value is another great way to prove your worth. Lately I have been hearing that the description of your value is also by the amount you share, or “you get what you give”.

It is strange, but I start to believe that coincidence is a rare factor. Most things we do have a purpose, and most things are meant to happen. This is not like if things are supernatural, but rather that we shape our lives whether we want it or not.

Think about it like this: when you play with your kids and look for a yellow car, there are suddenly much more yellow cars out than usual. Or like when you fall in love with the Tesla cars, suddenly you see them a lot. “What you seek you shall find”.

If your mind is negative and stressed you will find more negativity and stress. But if you affirm yourself with positive thoughts, set your goals and expectations high you are much more likely to find success and happiness. Like “the law of attraction” but in a more logic and realistic way.
